Overview
The Forensic Interview Training Scholarship Program will increase access to effective, trauma-informed forensic interview training for Minnesota professionals who interview children reporting abuse.
Scholarships are available to Minnesota professionals who are members of a Multidisciplinary Team (MDT), including child welfare workers, law enforcement, prosecutors, medical providers, CAC forensic interviewers and advocates. Training scholarships must be used for training in a nationally approved forensic interview protocol, which is vetted by the National Children's Alliance (NCA) and aligns with best practices and trauma-informed approaches. Scholarship funds can only be used for registration expenses.
Scholarship Amounts
Scholarships are provided on a reimbursement basis and will be made available after the applicant has attended the training and successfully completed all course and reporting requirements. The maximum scholarship amount in each category is:
- Up to $1,000 for basic forensic interview training
- Up to $500 for advanced or expanded forensic interview training
- Up to $150 for specialized, advanced topic training
Review Process
Scholarship applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and applicants will be notified within 10 business days. If you have any questions about this application, please contact the Minnesota Children’s Alliance.
